- With the same account, your content is on all your devices, and one subscription covers them all.
- Keep the app open while you record, or the time you were away will be missing.
You download Hazelnote from the App Store and sign in with your account. Here's what your device needs, which permissions the app asks for, and what to keep in mind when you record.
What your device needs
Hazelnote runs on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 16 or later. On iPad, the app has its own layout: instead of the bar at the bottom, you open Summaries, Notebooks and Learn from the sidebar.
Anything with AI, like summaries, study sets and the tutor, needs an internet connection. In Notebooks, you can keep writing offline. What you write there syncs as soon as you're back online.
One account on several devices
Sign in with the same account on your iPhone and iPad. Your summaries, notebooks and study sets are then on both. Your subscription belongs to your account and works on every device where you're signed in, Android included.
Microphone, camera and notifications
Hazelnote only asks for a permission when you need it:
- Microphone: for recordings, audio in a notebook and the tutor.
- Camera: for photos of a whiteboard, slides or an old exam.
- Photos: only for the row of your latest photos in the image tool. Picking images from your library works without it.
- Notifications: for the learning reminder.
iOS asks only once. If you said no, Hazelnote shows a note with Open Settings right where you need it. Allow the permission there, then try again.
Recording on iPhone
Your screen stays on while you record. Keep Hazelnote in the foreground. If you switch to another app or lock your iPhone, iOS pauses the recording, and the time you were away will be missing.
A phone call only interrupts the recording. It picks up again on its own afterward. If it doesn't, tap Resume.
