Hazelnote has no free plan. Instead, you can try Essential or Pro first when the store offers you a free trial. Here's where to see whether you get one and for how long, what happens afterward, and how to cancel.
How long, and for which plan
Whether there's a free trial and how long it lasts is set in the App Store and on Google Play, not in the app. Right now it's 3 days on the yearly plans of Essential and Pro. Monthly plans start without a trial. Since this can change, go by what the app shows you before you buy.
During the trial you get full access to everything in your plan. You pay nothing today.
What you see before you buy
If a plan comes with a free trial, it says so on that plan, for example “Try 3 days free”, and the button reads Try for free. Under How the trial works you can see what happens today and on which day your subscription starts.
If no trial is shown, you won't get one for that plan. Your subscription then starts with the first payment.
Who gets a free trial
You only get one free trial. With Apple, it counts per Apple Account for Essential and Pro together. On Google Play, you only get one if your Google account has never had a Hazelnote subscription, the AI Pass included. If you've had a subscription before that has since ended, you won't see a trial again.
During the trial
To see how long your trial has left, tap your avatar in the top right. In Profile & settings, your plan shows “Free trial until” with the date. Under Manage subscription you'll also see how many days are left and when the first charge comes.
When the trial ends
When the trial ends, your subscription starts and the store charges the first payment. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. That goes for the trial too.
If you canceled and the trial is over, Hazelnote shows you the plans again the next time you open it. Your summaries stay in your account and are back as soon as you subscribe.
